Watch: Dr. Myles Munroe’s children release new web series ‘The Journey’ documenting efforts to move forward

(L to R: Charisa Munroe, the late Dr. Myles Munroe, Chairo (Myles, Jr.) Munroe)Article By Evette Wilson:: EEW Magazine News

On November 9, 2014, the world was stunned to learn that revered pastor, author and Bible teacher, Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth died in a plane crash.

In a new multi-part web series called “The Journey,” Myles Jr. and Charisa, the two children of the deceased couple, are documenting their efforts to carry on their parents’ ministerial legacy.

“Death is not defined as done or quitting, or stopping. It simply means finished. Our parents simply finished,” said Charisa during a speaking engagement, captured in the series footage. “They both finished their purpose for which they were born. Now it is our time to start.”

According to Myles Jr., while he was grappling with the sudden loss and trying to understand why God allowed his parents to die, he said the Lord answered him with three words: “Watch me work.”

That work, thus far, has been revealed through the siblings’ thriving efforts to advance Dr. Munroe’s vision to mold new leaders.

“It’s a goal of mine now to carry on this vision and to make sure that everything he has worked for, everything he has instilled in me, I now bring out and I reproduce myself in someone else,” said Myles Jr.

Dr. Myles and Lady Ruth Munroe died in a plane crash November 9, 2014Charisa, who was initially believed to have died in the crash also, said, “Every human being was born to lead, but you must become a leader. A lot of people die and never become what they were born to do.”

She continued, “That’s why my dad always said that the graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it has so much dreams, so much vision, so much purposes that were never filled.”

It is clear that the two Munroe siblings are determined to do what their father told everyone to do, which is to “die empty.”

Dr. Munroe and his wife Ruth, leaders of Bahamas Faith Ministries were killed when their private jet struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Shipyard, exploding on impact.

The aircraft, a Lear 36 Executive Jet, crashed near a junkyard after departing from Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA), headed for the Grand Bahama International Airport.

Dr. Munroe was an internationally renowned bestselling author, lecturer, teacher, life coach, government consultant, and leadership mentor. He travelled around the world training leaders in business, government, education, sports, media, and religion.
