4 easy ways to sneak in me-time without ruining your schedule

(Credit: Tom Merton/Getty Images)Article By Patricia Harris // EEW Magazine Lifestyle

In this busy hurried world, it’s not impossible to make time for yourself. If you’re having trouble fitting you into your own schedule, start with these suggestions.

You love the idea of relaxing, but don’t have a long time to do it. Not to worry.

Even with kids, work, ministry, chores and errands, here are 4 quick ways to sneak in some me-time in a snap.

Private Tea Time: Take a 10-15 minute tea break. Although you can have whatever your favorite warm beverage is, if you want the best advice, we recommend decaffeinated green tea. It’s a super healthy and well-known stress reliever. So start and drift away.

Read a quick devotional: One of the best pamper-me-pick-me-ups is a spiritual devotional. Not only does it improve your natural mood, but it also elevates your spirits--the perfect combo. If you don’t know where to find great devotionals see this year’s “Top 100 faith blogs” with awesome writers like Priscilla Shirer, Dianna Hobbs and Joyce Meyer listed.

Enjoy your favorite melody: It has long been known, with science to prove it, that music is therapeutic. If it isn’t part of your pamper-me arsenal, you’re missing out. Just turn on your favorite 3-4 minute tune, shut out the world and replay it a few times. This will instantly calm and relax you.

Eat a piece of dark chocolate: Dark chocolate is a comforting, healthy and guilt-free mood enhancer. So go ahead and put a little piece of heaven on your tongue. You’ll be giving your body awesome minerals like zinc, potassium and iron. Not to be confused with milk chocolate, try the Godiva 72% Cacao Chocolate Bar. Enjoy!

Pampering yourself shouldn’t be reserved for special days off or extended vacations.

Add a little me-time to every day for a healthier, richer, fuller and more balanced life.
