WATCH: T.D. Jakes Talks Single Ladies On BET’s Mind, Body & Soul

Bishop TD Jakes has a playful side that only those closest to him get to see on a regular basis. But with his BET talk show, “Mind, Body & Soul,” the segment called “The Briefing” that gives a behind-the-scenes look at how the episodes come together, showcases that aspect of his personality more.

In preparation for his interview with women producers categorized as “Smart, Single, and Successful,” that aired Sunday, Nov. 19, 2013, the Dallas mega pastor jokingly expressed underlying trepidation about being around beautiful ladies, thus feeling the need to reassure his wife of his loyalty to her.

“This show they got me doing today is sexy, successful, and single. What kind of mess is that?” he said playfully.

“Honey, I didn’t even look at ‘em. Not a one of ‘em. I’m good. Praise the Lord. Thank You Jesus,” then added, “Lawd, y’all better pray for me.”

Jakes, who is around attractive women often through his entertainment pursuits—Paula Patton and Meagan Good were two of his leading ladies in “Jumping The Broom”—was only pretending to be under stress over the position he was placed in by the urban network that makes his show possible.

I prefer that he sticks to preaching. This does not suit him. Do you know what the ratings are? How is the show doing? I haven't watched it

I like seeing a different side of Bishop Jakes! We are so uptight as Christians like we can never laugh or play about anything. The show is great. I am glad they switched it to a new time because the noon hour was not working for me at all

I'm so tired of Christians! AND I'M A FIRM CHRISTIAN! Christians can be so mean and way too deep for their own good. These "no earthly good but heaven bound" Christians irk the mess out of me. Lighten up! Enjoy life! The man (Bishop Jakes) was joking. I swear, it's just to much smh.
