Share Since the brother of GRAMMY® Award-winning American Idol alum, Fantasia Barrino, was critically injured in a motorcycle accident, she has been seeking God, requesting prayer and staying in worship.

On the day of Xavier Barrino’s tenth surgery, the platinum-selling singer began her day with Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s “Forever At Your Feet” from the worship leader’s Heart. Passion. Pursuit. album.

“Thank all of you for praying,” wrote the North Carolina native on Instagram while updating fans on her sibling’s condition. According to Fantasia, he sustained extensive injuries: breaking his pelvis, both legs, shoulder, left foot, and fracturing bones in his back. His kidneys are not working. He has an infection in his bladder and is on a breathing tube.

Despite all the bad news, the 33-year-old maintains a positive outlook about Xavier’s condition by fueling her faith with spiritual songs.

Cobbs Leonard has proven to be a great source of hope, inspiration and upliftment. The "Break Every Chain" singer's Billboard chart-topping new release is filled with lyrics and melodies to touch the heart and speak to the soul of the hearer.

“Xavier is fighting to be the man God is calling for him to be. At first I was down about the doctors saying he would have to relearn everything,” wrote Fantasia.

But now, she says she views the bleak report from a different perspective: it is a new beginning for her brother, who she calls her “heartbeat.”

“All of the old things have to shed off of him and he's being put right back together just the way God is telling the doctors to do it. God is calling all the males to the front line and he will do it however he sees fit,” she said.

As the North Carolina native supports and prays for her brother, she is also gearing up for her first-ever holiday album, Christmas After Midnight, releasing via Concord Records on October 6.
