In a day when many Christians are changing to conform to the world, a song about changing to conform to the Word has soared to the top spot, and it’s just what we need right now.

GRAMMY® Award-winning singer Tamela Mann’s “Change Me” is No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart, proving that music with substance still has power to move us.

The anointed traditional number has already been reigning supreme at No. 1 on Gospel Airplay for nine weeks, making it Mann’s second No. 1 Hot Gospel song and seventh Top 10 hit.

Billboard notes that “Change Me” is “her first ascent to the summit in five years.”

The music magazine also reports "Take Me to the King,” which stayed at No. 1 for its first 25 weeks in 2012, was “the longest reign for a song by a woman.”

Mann, 51, has another hit on her hands.

Why is it what we need? Because its lyrics awaken a desire in the listener to adhere to the principles in the Bible, walk according to God's will and offer up pure worship.

It doesn't get any better than that.

As an added bonus, "Change Me," which showcases the Mann's pure, powerful and smooth soprano vocals, also pays tribute to the incomparable Tramaine Hawkins by integrating the gospel legend’s classic hit, “Changed."

GRAMMY® Award-winning Hawkins is known for timeless hits like Going Up Yonder” and The Potter’s House.” She had a hand in making one of the biggest smashes of all time, “Oh Happy Day,” the first million-selling gospel single to top the pop record charts and the first global crossover hit.

It is fitting that one of gospel's most dominant and prominent vocalists is introducing Hawkins' beloved song to a whole new generation.
