Jacky Clark Chisholm donating all proceeds from new music to fight childhood cancer

Share If you're looking for an example of a Christian recording artist being the hands and feet of Jesus in the earth, look no further than GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel artist Jacky Clark Chisholm.

The member of the legendary Clark Sisters, who serves as an ambassador for St. Jude Sunday of Hope, has released a brand new single, "Cover Me," and 100 percent of the proceeds go toward fighting childhood cancer.

In an Instagram video asking for support of the new release that is currently available on iTunes and all major digital outlets, Clark Chisholm said, “I’m real excited about being able to do this in conjunction with St. Jude Hospital."

St. Jude, which is changing the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, has a strong advocate in Clark Chisholm. "Now you know that this is so important to me because I’m a nurse and because anything that I can find to do to help these babies and help the fight of cancer, I am on my P’s and Q’s to do," she said.

The first-born daughter of the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, the  legendary innovator of the modern gospel choir, doesn't want to just sing to entertain. She is working to make a real difference in the lives of those who are sick and in need.

"Being a nurse for over 40 years, I have witnessed firsthand how devastating cancer can be for any adult," Clark Chisholm said. "But when we see how babies and innocent children have to suffer from such a dreadful issue, it becomes personally heartbreaking." It is these experiences, in particular, that inspired her to support St. Jude.

Her collaboration with St. Jude Sunday of Hope, is all about leading church congregations nationwide in donating to St. Jude via their Sunday offering services. Supporters like her make sure that no family receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because St. Jude founder, the late Danny Thomas, believed all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

"Cover Me" is produced by Dominicke A. Polk with video production by Atun Foster and Jeremy Ventura.
