EEW’s verse of the day shows you how to experience the peace of God at all times

“I have peace at all times!” Declare that and believe it to be true, because this is what the Lord desires for you.

Too many times, however, we forfeit our peace on days when everything is chaotic. When life becomes crazy and struggles get all too real, we forget that Jesus promises us we will have peace in the midst of trouble.

If you’re struggling through a confusing, troubling, difficult time in your life, Empowering Everyday Women Ministries’ verse of the day will help you. It is found in John chapter 16, verse 33 (NIV) and contains a powerful principle of peace to assist you in your walk of faith daily.

You ready? Let’s get into it:

Part 1.) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.” Just as Jesus told His followers then that they would struggle on account of their faith, He tells us the same thing now, through His written Word. The Lord never promised that life would be a walk in the park; there are multiple scriptures that say just the opposite. But when we do go through tests and spiritual battles, in order to stay sane, we must remember where our peace truly lies.

Part 2.) “In this world you will have trouble.” Jesus quite blatantly told His disciples, “You are going to struggle. You’re going to go through. The world is going to be against you.” We, as the present-day disciples, are not exempt from this rule. When you really love Jesus, and are committed to doing His work in the earth, you’re going to run into some obstacles. It won’t be because you sinned, or because you deserve it. Many times, you’ll go through simply so He can deliver you for His glory’s sake (John 9:3), and other times, you’ll be tested so that He can mature you (James 1:3-4).

Part 3.) “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Even in the midst of these promises of trouble, we have a principle of peace—or rather, a Prince of Peace. We can rest in the knowledge that Christ has already overcome the world and all its difficulties. What makes that a comforting thought? The fact that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37)! Christ’s victory is also our victory. When we put our faith in Jesus, we can rest assured that we will come out of every trial, every tribulation, and every test. And not only that; when we remember that He is our peace, we will be able to wait out the storm with greater patience, and greater joy.

The key to maintaining peace within yourself, is to keep Christ close to your heart and continually on your mind. Remind yourself each day that God is with you, and if He is for you. So, who can come against you and win (Romans 8:31)?
