Today’s cup of inspiration: Press forward. Breakthrough is coming!

GETTYLord knows things are going wrong in your life right now. Situations are difficult. The stormy seas are raging against you. And yet, He doesn’t want you to grow weary or faint of heart. Something good is up ahead.

In today’s devotional, Dianna Hobbs empowers you to keep believing, continue crying out to God, and keep on pressing forward to obtain your breakthrough that’s just around the corner!

If someone was looking in my window, they probably thought to themselves, That poor lady is really sad. But quite the opposite was true.

You see, I was driving and crying this week on my way to Niagara Falls, NY—the city in which God healed me miraculously. It's been several weeks ago now, but it almost feels like yesterday. Being in the driver’s seat, able to get around without assistance and feeling no pain, overwhelmed me.

As tears flowed, all I could say was, “Thank You Jesus!”

What a mighty God we serve.

He can take our pain, struggles and difficulties away in an instant, though He doesn’t always move as quickly as we would like Him to. Sometimes struggles last for many days, weeks, months and even years. Yet, that doesn’t mean God has forgotten about us! He simply allows the tests and trials to help us grow stronger, to build our character and develop us into exactly who He wants us to be.

If you’re in the midst of a test or trial today, you’re supposed to be here reading this. God wants you to know it’s not over. He has the last say. This is not your final destination. There is more that He’s going to do in your life. He will get the glory.

Just hang in there. Press forward in faith.

Keep on believing and confessing that, "I'm next in line for a breakthrough!"

God knows you're weary. Don't dare give up. Your breakthrough is right around the corner!

Be persistent. Don’t give up. Cry out to the Lord fervently no matter what comes against you, just like the blind beggar Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52.

In this biblical account, the Bible says that Jesus, His disciples and a large crowd were about to leave Jericho. But when Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth—the one who was able to heal him—was in the vicinity, he cried out for mercy.

People tried to shut him up. They rebuked him and told him to be quiet.  But the more the crowd did their best to shush him, the louder he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And you know what? Jesus stopped and summoned that man. “What do you want me to do for you?” the Savior asked him.

Bartimaeus, whose name means “Son of the Unclean” or “Heir of Uncleanness,” said he wanted to receive his sight. Despite how others perceived him and his condition, Bartimaeus believed in Christ’s power to heal him. And Jesus did just that. When the Anointed One restored his sight, He told Bartimaeus, “Your faith has healed you.”

Now, according to man’s estimation, Bartimaeus, in his unclean and lowly state, was unworthy to be in the presence of Jesus. He wasn’t fit to cry out to the Master and request deliverance. He was just an old beggar that others looked down upon. Yet, he refused to let his life’s circumstances and the opinions of people shut his mouth. In the midst of opposition, he kept on crying out.

He held on to his faith.

That’s how Bartimaeus, a great example to us all, got his breakthrough; it is exactly how you will get yours with the help of the Lord.

The enemy wants you to let life, adversity, trouble, hindrances and criticism make you shut your mouth, give up and succumb to weariness. But God is empowering you to press on and get what's coming. Good things are up ahead. As long as you don't quit in response to adverse circumstances, you'll make it.

Be persistent.

Cry out to the Lord.

To help you do that, I'm stirring Matthew 7:7 NLT into your cup of inspiration, which says, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you."

As you drink down the contents of your cup, remember that your determination to keep pressing, praying, trusting and hoping in God is essential to receiving your breakthrough. Push back against every force that tries to shut your mouth and challenge your faith in God’s power to bring you out.

The same God who had mercy on a blind, unclean beggar, and a little old blogger named Dianna Hobbs from Buffalo, NY, will have mercy on you.

Do what Hebrews 4:16 NLT says: “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

Once again, press forward. Breakthrough is on the way!

God, my circumstances are difficult, but I know that You are greater than my struggle. Today, I have received this word and I cry out to You with my whole heart. Please look upon me with eyes of mercy and help me. I trust You completely. Even in the midst of all I’m going through, I still declare, You are able and I believe You will deliver me. Thank You in advance for what’s already done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!

If you need prayer, don't hesitate to request it. I would be honored to stand in faith with You. I know that prayer works. CLICK HERE to learn how to submit your prayer request.
