Spreading the Word: Thousands of women donate Bibles for the youth at Priscilla Shirer’s Awaken conference

GETTYArticle By Naaema Perkins // EEW Magazine News

Share Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer’s Awaken Gathering brings women together in the Dallas, Fort Worth area to worship, fellowship and learn God’s word—but that’s not all.

Last week, the ladies also rallied around another great cause: donating Bibles to Champions of Hope, a Christ-centered mentoring organization, so young readers could have access to Jesus Storybook Bibles, NIV and ESV Bibles.

What an awesome ministry initiative—one that the 4,500 conference attendees supported in big numbers!

Thousands gather for Priscilla Shirer’s Awaken conference (Photo Credit: Instagram)“See all those Bibles?” Shirer, Founder of Going Beyond Ministries, proudly wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of lots of donated Bibles. She noted that the ones pictured were “just a small portion of the thousands” the women brought with them to the gathering.

“So grateful for everyone's generosity!” the 42-year-old best-selling author and actress continued. “No better gift than God's Word!!”

Credit: InstagramThe folks at Champions of Hope are no doubt grateful. The mentorship ministry works to transform individuals in the South Dallas community through Gospel-centered relationships and discipleship, with the aim of developing Godly character in the youth population it serves.

Having thousands of Bibles to distribute will help the young people grow in the word of God.

“We are cheering for Champions of Hope!” said Shirer. “Celebrating your work in the community!”
