Super-busy? 3 ways to make sure there is always room for God

Credit: Getty/TetraArticle By Nyla Ortega // EEW Magazine Spiritual

With our jam-packed schedules and fast-approaching deadlines, it seems as though there is so much to remember.

We have to be on top of every date, every event, every meeting! And sometimes, in an attempt to maintain order, we’ll cut out the things that really matter.

Breakfast becomes a second-thought. Family time gets pushed back for work time. And worst of all, we’ll put God on the back burner. Who has time to read the Word when you need to go over these papers for work, or get the kids to school?

True, it can be hard to find time to fit a Bible study into our everyday lives, but you can’t perform effectively in life without the guidance of God. Psalm 119:105 says (NLT), “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” The Lord speaks to you and directs you through the pages of that Bible that rarely leaves its shelf.

Today, I’ve come to share 3 ways you can fit God into every day—especially the crazy ones!

#1 Read the Verse of the Day. You may not have time for an in-depth Bible study each morning, but downloading a Bible app and reading the verse of the day isn’t asking much! And if you can, aim to read at least a chapter a day.

#2 Set a Bible-themed wallpaper. Have a scripture as your wallpaper, on your phone or computer. This helps with memorization, because after seeing the verse several times, it will eventually become locked in your memory. When you successfully memorize it, change the wallpaper to another scripture. How simple is that?

#3 Play worship music. You don’t have to be sedentary to listen to music, so play it throughout your day! It doesn’t matter what genre—CCM, traditional gospel, or Christian hip-hop, as long as Jesus is the main subject. Music can set the atmosphere for your day, so blast songs proclaiming the Good News, songs that glorify our God and draw us closer to Him.

Get creative! Put these three tips into action, and add a few of your own. The most important thing on your schedule is time with God, so don’t forget Him.
