Not today, Satan! 6 awesome scriptures to combat the enemy’s attack

Credit: CrosswalkArticle By Nyla Ortega // EEW Magazine Spiritual

Share Satan loves to introduce challenges to target our faith. Look no further than the life of Job. But here’s the good news: the Lord has given us a way to defeat the devil and his attacks.

The most effective weapon against the enemy is the word of God, so here are 6 awesome scriptures to have ready in your arsenal:

1. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)- “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Realize that some of the troubles you face in this world are the work of the enemy. So don’t get caught up fighting against people who seem to have it out for you, or worrying over circumstances. You can’t win a battle if you’re blind to who your true enemy is.

2. Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)- “No weapon formed against you shall prosper...” As a submitted and chosen servant of the Lord, every obstacle that stands in your way will be removed. Every storm will be weathered and every shackle loosed. Since you are a child of God, these things cannot best you; they can only better you.

3. Romans 8:28 (NIV)- “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The Lord will use the situations the enemy fights you with to build character, rather than destroy it. Satan does not have the final say, the Lord does. So know that in the end, this trial will produce positive fruit in your life and bring God glory.

4. 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)- “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” To reiterate, all things work together for your good, because the power you have on your side and in your heart is greater than the power the devil has opposing you. You are an overcomer because Christ has already overcome. Remain steadfast and full of faith.

5. John 16:33 (NIV)- “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” No one is exempt from trouble. We all must go through. Nevertheless, have courage and let peace overtake your mind as you are comforted by the knowledge that Christ has already fought your battles, and won the victory!

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Anything is possible when the Lord is on your side. Don’t let the devil trick you into thinking otherwise. No setback, storm, opposition or struggle is greater than our God, the One who equips you in all circumstances.

The next time the enemy comes for you and you're tempted to give in to discouragement, pull these 6 scriptures out of your arsenal.

They should be front and center in your mind if you are currently under attack. Meditate on them and allow them to strengthen you in your time of need. There is power in God's word!
