You can do it! The 4 P’s of achieving your divinely inspired dreams

File PhotoBy J.C. Culligan

Feel like this is your time to launch out and build your vision? There are clear steps you should follow to help you build, achieve and ultimately succeed.

Share If you have a dream in your heart, but don’t know how to press towards that dream, you may feel frustrated and somewhat aimless.

But don’t be upset, weary or anxious. There are surefire principles to help you fulfill the vision the Lord has given you. They are what we call the “4 P’s” of achieving your divinely-inspired dreams.

Principle 1: Pray. Philippians 4:6 (ESV) says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.” Ask God for wisdom. He'll give it to you and lead you where you need to go. After all, who can direct you toward your divine dream better than the one who gave it to you?

Principle 2: Prepare. Luke 14:28 (NLT) reads, “But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?” Make sure you have the resources you need to make your dream a reality. Don’t dive in without researching, calculating and understanding the amount of finances, equipment and other things you will need to be successful.

Once you know what the endeavor requirers, you can work toward earning, fundraising, and saving the capital required. Furthermore, be encouraged in knowing this: the same God who gives the vision, also gives provision.

Principle 3: Plan. Write a business plan. Set up goals for yourself and have a clear aim. Make sure your dream is focused and specific. Know where you are headed and what you hope to accomplish. At the same time, realize that nothing can be perfectly planned for, so don’t stress yourself out over the little details of how you’ll make it to your final destination.

Realize that ultimately, the Lord is the one who determines how far you will go and when you will get there, so “commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3, NIV).

Principle 4: Persevere. Galatians 6:9 (KJV) says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Building up your vision will take some good old fashioned hard work and sweat equity. You've got to roll up your sleeves and get busy. Even when you feel tired and it gets hard, never give up. When the odds feel stacked against you, press on anyway.

Every business owner and visionary will come up against opposition they must push forward against. You are no exception. But hey, there is no obstacle you can’t overcome and no challenge you can’t tackle if you are determined to keep going! Remember what Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

To recap, these are the 4 P’s: Pray, prepare, plan, and persevere.

If you remember and apply these spiritually and practically sound tips, you will see all God has placed in your heart come to fruition.
