Tina Campbell to Married Couples: ‘Practice giving love in your homes’

1 Peter 4:8 says love covers a multitude of sins, which is something Tina Campbell of the GRAMMY® Award-winning duo Mary Mary can attest to.

In a new Instagram post, the red-haired singer shares some great advice for those who want to experience marital bliss: show more love.

“LOVE is how we communicate with each other. It starts with receiving it for yourself through humility. You humble yourself before God and just receive His Love that is unmerited,” writes the wife who weathered the storm brought on by her husband Teddy Campbell’s well publicized infidelity.

She continues, “Once you truly do that, then you have to give it away! You don't deserve God’s Love and neither does the person you give it to. But TRUE love is not based on a feeling or what someone deserves but it’s based on a commandment given by our King, Jesus (John 13:34).”

The WE tv reality star, who is lifting souls across the nation through her "An Evening with Teddy and Tina Campbell" 2016 Fall tour going on now through November,  is very honest about her rocky journey back to wholeness. Forgiving her cheating husband and choosing not to live life angry and scorned was a long, grueling process.

In a transparent interview with EBONY, Campbell admits, "At first I was like, 'this ain’t never going to work and I don’t want God to fix this.' I was like, dang, everybody? Have I just been blind and stupid the whole marriage? I damaged a lot of things. I attacked him physically with things. My intentions were to kill him. I was praying to God and listening to the demons at the same time. The pain of what was happening made me feel like I needed to get him back. I was conflicted for a year."

After overcoming hard times, today, Campbell freely shares tips and advice to assist others on their journey toward happiness in marriage.

Using Jesus as an example, the 42-year-old writes on Instagram, “He was the greatest to ever show it and we have to model his love to each other. If you constantly turn away from your own feelings and emotions and your pride and put yourself on a ‘Love receiving plan’ from the father, then you will be able to Love others like Jesus did!”

The message, which is posted next to a photo of the smiling lovebirds snuggling each other close, further advises husbands and wives to “Stay humble and submitted to God and His Word and you can accomplish this. The best news is, in this process, your faith will work for anything you're believing for, because Faith works by Love (Gal 5:6).”

She adds, “Walking in Love will help you build your Faith, so practice giving Love in your homes and everywhere else you go and watch God blow your mind! Since God IS Love, He gets a kick out of you giving HIM to someone else!”

This past week, the Campbells spent time in Philadelphia, where the singer's percussionist spouse was "blessed" to play drums for the Democratic National Convention and be "a part of our nation's history."
