Believing God for healing? 5 Bible stories to encourage you to keep the faith

Shutterstock

God yet heals, but it can be difficult to cling to faith in seasons of sickness. Nevertheless, don’t lose heart.

Article by Nyla Ortega // EEW Magazine Spiritual

Share Believing God for healing when you are battling a serious illness can be tough, especially when you've been dealing with sickness for a long time and are in pain.

If you need encouragement, here are 5 Bible stories to remind you of the miraculous healings the Lord has performed.

Hezekiah’s Healing (2 Kings 20:1-11). The Lord sees you when you are in pain and He hears your prayers. He has not forgotten you. Even when an illness is terminal, this biblical account reminds you that God is still able.

Jesus Heals the Blind Man (John 9:1-12). This story will help you trust that you have not gotten sick to suffer in vain. But God allowed sickness so He may be glorified in the end. Hang in there!

Naaman Cured of Leprosy (2 Kings 5:1-14). Let this awesome historical event remind you that God’s plan to heal you may not be ideal by your standards, but He will restore you nonetheless. Be open to His methods.

The Woman with an Issue of Blood (Luke:43-48). If you have been suffering with a chronic illness and enduring an ongoing battle, you may feel like giving up on your faith. Don't quit trusting! This story will reassure you that if you keep pressing and pursuing God with a heart full of faith, He will work for you.

The Man at the Pool of Bethesda (5:1-9). God does not have time-limited healings. That means, He may not deliver you immediately, but healing hasn't passed you by. No matter how much time has passed, it's not too late for the Lord.

Be sure to take time to read these Bible stories. Meditate on them. God's word strengthens you in hardship.

Also, remain diligent in your prayers and trust that the Lord is working for your good.
