It’s Official: Marvin Sapp Consecrated Bishop

Share You may officially call him Bishop Marvin Sapp.

After receiving his “Bull of Intent” certificate in March, the multi-platinum recording artist and pastor ‘s Episcopal Consecration to the office of Bishop is now complete.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone who has congratulated me on my elevation to the episcopacy,” said Sapp, 48, in a July 11 Instagram post.

The Michigan-based pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church serves under the leadership of Bishop Neil C. Ellis, presiding prelate of Gulf United Fellowship (GUF), established in 2014.

 “Words can't express the love that I have felt from so many,” continued Sapp, who is the Central Province Bishop, giving him jurisdiction over the central region of the United States.

Sapp added, “Please keep me in your prayer [sic] as I endeavor to serve the kingdom with my whole heart.”

GUF is a non-denominational fellowship citing its goal as being “to change a generation and expand the influence of the Kingdom of God to all nations.”

Its annual corporate meeting, “The Gathering,” took place in Jacksonville, Florida at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

GUF, which was born out of Bishop Ellis’s split from Bishop Paul Morton’s “Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship” following Bishop Joseph Walker III’s appointment as successor, is rapidly expanding.
