60-Year-Old Impregnates 12-Year-Old, Family Speaks Out

The heartbreaking and disgusting case of a senior citizen man sexually assaulting an adolescent girl has adults cringing across the nation.

A 60-year-old Florida man has been arrested after impregnating a 12-year-old.

Walter Johnson is charged with three counts of sexual battery on a person under 18 years of age after a pregnancy test at a clinic came back positive on New Year’s Eve.

The predator allegedly had intercourse with the girl multiple times in the first week of October according to an arrest report by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

MyFoxMemphis says Johnson, who accompanied the girl to the facility, left once the pregnancy test results were revealed. He called 911, threatening to kill himself.

Shortly thereafter, he was found at a gas station and taken into custody, leaving behind a religious book of some sort.

Now that Johnson is facing charges, he denies ever having sex with the girl. Furthermore, he claims to be mentally ill, saying specifically he is bipolar and schizophrenic, and was off his meds.

The girl is now in counseling and in the care of family.

"This story  broke my heart when I first heard about," said Dianna Hobbs, a sexual abuse survivor and Founder of the "No More Secrets" national anti-sexual abuse campaign.

"This is why I have revealed my hurtful past of being molested by a trusted neighbor, so others will know they are not alone. This happens every day."

Johnson is being held at the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on $1.5 million bail.

The family said they knew him for 40 years and are shocked this could happen in their own home.  Though he had since moved out, Johnson lived with the family in 2011 and 2012, and was helping watch the girl.

“She’s not nothing but 12 years old. She’s still a baby herself,” said the girl’s relative. “It’s really hard.”

Another female relative weighed in, saying, “He was a good guy, but there is hidden secrets.”

She added, “If it’s a child out there that’s listening, if anybody touches you, please don’t be afraid to tell. Tell somebody.”

The family plans to keep the baby and says they will “love that baby,” because, “we’re a loving family.”
