Did TD Jakes Hear This? Mega Pastor Featured on Jeezy’s Profane ‘Holy Ghost’ Remix Single

(EEW NEWS) September 5, 2014

Bishop Thomas Dexter Jakes, 57, is one of the most recognizable preachers in the world, with his influence expanding well beyond the four walls of his Texas-based Potter’s House church.

So popular is he that a clip of his sermon is used on the “Holy Ghost” Remix—a profane single released by mainstream rapper Jeezy featuring Kendrick Lamar.

When the the remixed version of the rap that was originally on his Seen It All: The Autobiography hit the web earlier in the week, it began trending on Twitter, capturing the attention of some within the faith-based community who were immediately shocked to hear Bishop Jakes’ voice.

Lamar’s featured verse commits some of the most egregious offenses on the track, starting out with “I swear to Lord as my shepherd/ I'm 'bout to go cop a Lexus/I'm 'bout to go f*ck Alexis/ take this and flood my Rolexes…” and more.

Rap peers Jeezy and Kendrick are photographed together at an event. Before that tricky verse is heard, however, Jakes’ voice serves as an introduction to what’s next.

Touch somebody and say ‘I’m still on fire.

I’m under attack, but I’m still on fire.

I’ve got some chatter, but I’m still on fire.

I’ve got some threats, but I’m still on fire.

I’ve got some liabilities, but I’m still on fire.

It’s not amazing that I’m on fire.

I’ve been to hell and back, but I’m still on fire.’”

EEW Magazine has chosen not to publish the audio, since it would be much too offensive to some of our readers’ sensibilities.
