Mary Mary To Rep Gospel At Steve Harvey’s ‘Neighborhood Awards’

CREDIT: Washington PostFormerly known as the “Hoodie Awards,” on Saturday August 10, gospel duo Mary Mary is gearing up to perform at the 11th annual Ford “Neighborhood Awards” hosted by Steve Harvey.

The unique event which honors community do-gooders, local businesses, religious and neighborhood leaders, churches, and high schools for their contributions, is all set to kick off at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas.

12 non-traditional awards will be handed out to the much-deserving unsung heroes of neighborhoods across the US. The winner of the Best Community Leader will receive $30,000 to benefit their church or non-profit organization.

The other 11 categories are: Best High School Coach, Best Nail Salon, Best School Teacher, Best Car Wash/Detail Shop, Best Church Choir, Best Soul Food, Best Barber Shop, Best High School, Best Barbecue Place, Best Beauty Salon, Best Church.

Erica and Tina Campbell will be on hand to provide uplifting songs, helping to set the tone, and injecting a "little more Jesus"--the title of Erica's first solo single--into the atmosphere.

Though WE tv reality stars and gospel's biggest selling pair are technically taking a break, meaning, not recording any new music together for an undetermined period of time, the two have continuously busied themselves with tour dates and public outings.
