You have an open invitation from one of Gospel’s most adorable couples, David and Tamela Mann, to join them in their fitness journey. The two shared Instagram photos of a rigorous workout session with the message: “One day closer to our goal you can join us if u like…”
The hilarious David Mann, who was laid out in the middle of the floor with a sweat-stained t-shirt assured his followers, “no I'm not dead I'm just super tired LOL.”
It appears that accepting the Mann’s invitation to join their exercise troupe will mean sweating it out in the gym and eating a whole lot healthier, which has been the key to the couple’s visible weight loss.
“I’m trying to keep this weight off,” said “Take Me to the King” singer Tamela Mann in an interview with Essence.com. “I’m working out. I have a trainer. I’m trying to eat right, not a whole lot of desserts. No sodas. Every now and then I’ll take a swig of somebody’s.”
The decision to get healthier originated with funnyman, David Mann, who stars alongside in his wife in the hit TBS sitcom, Meet the Browns—a smart idea with all the demands of their active careers.
The two, who have been married 22 years and have four children, have managed to juggle busy acting schedules.
Then, there are also music obligations to fill. Powerhouse vocalist Tamela Mann is out promoting her chart-topping album, “Best Days” album, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart.
Tamela Mann recently made an appearance at a stop on “The King’s Men” Tour with Kirk Franklin, to belt out “Now Behold the Lamb.”
The beloved song, boosted by Mann’s soaring vocals, was released by Gospocentric in 1996 as a part of the “Kirk Franklin and the Family Christmas” album. To this day, it is a favorite among gospel lovers worldwide.
David and Tamela Mann are among a growing list of Christian entertainers getting healthier. Darwin Hobbs and his wife Traci have dropped a combined 118 pounds.
