Believers should be encouraged by 3 John 1:2 to “prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” And it looks like Gospel recording artist Darwin Hobbs is working toward that end. The singer has dropped an impressive 70 pounds with the help of his personal trainer.
According to Breathecast, Darwin and Traci Hobbs have both been inspired and whipped into shape by Trainer Lorenzo Everhard.
The missus has shed a remarkable 48 pounds of her own.

In 2010, Hobbs had a serious health scare after undergoing gastric bypass surgery, when blood clots were found in both his legs and lungs. The clots were believed to be a complication stemming from the delicate weight loss procedure.
“While traveling to the airport for a performance in the Mid-west with his close friend Yolanda Adams, he became really short of breath," Traci Hobbs revealed to Sister 2 Sister magazine. Hobbs was admitted into St. Joseph's Hospital on June 15 and released on July 27, more than a month later.
These days, he and his wife are serious about taking control of their health, which will enable them to more effectively meet the demands of ministry.
Hobbs recently tweeted, "70lbs down... Thanking God for newness of life! In hot pursuit of WELLNESS!"
Congratulations to them on getting healthy.

OMG!!! I am sooooooo elated by this! I have been praying for him for a while regarding his health, and I am so glad to see he and beautiful wife are doing what's right to get healthy. This encouraged me so much! Thanks EEW for this post!
Awesome story! I have read his childhood story, and it's wonderful how God can raise people up from such horrible situations and make them mighty servants of God! Praying for his continuous prosperity in ministry and in health!
I am so very happy for the couple and thier weight loss journey!! I too had the surgery in 2009 and lost over 170 lbs in 3 years. I praise God for various avenues He supplies us with to keep our temples (that we are renting) in good health so we may prosper! Continue your journey and know that God has your back and I will be praying for the both of you. Be Blessed!!
