FIRST LOOK: Season 2 Scenes from 'Mary Mary' Features Strippers, Altercation

There is a fine line between appropriate and inappropriate entertainment for Christians. So when WE tv released a sneak peek inside Season 2 of Mary Mary's hit reality show, some EEW readers were put off by the showcasing of male strippers, as well as an almost-physical altercation.
Last season, Mary Mary touched off a storm of controversy when their reality show featured pole dancing, which is considered risqué for Christian artists to do publicly.
But that may seem to pale in comparison to the latest look into the upcoming season. During preparation for one of the sister's bachelorette party, male exotic dancers are shown shaking, seducing, and showing off plenty of skin--something Tina Campbell refused to have take place at her house.
"That's my kids' window right there. We gone have men out here, no shirts and all of that. My little girls gone be peeking out the windows," she said, explaining to her stylist sister why she refused to host the event at her house at the last minute.
In one of the previews, there is also a flare-up that nearly turns into a fight between manager Mitch and Goo Goo's chivalrous boyfriend.
Thankfully, the drama stopped short of an all out brawl.

Though the edgiest portions of the previews do not feature Erica or Tina Campbell, the two have creative control over what scenes air on the show. As executive producers, do you think they should have edited out the stripper scenes for the sake of what is supposed to be a family-friendly, Christian show?

My young daughters love Mary Mary. They watch the reality show and I am so disappointed in these previews! Really? Are they trying to compete with the Braxtons?

Yes there is and they have crossed it in my opinion.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 says Abstain from all appearance of evil and this don't even look right. No, no, no!!!!
Christians should be salt and light in the world, bringing something different to the table not the same old corruption and foolishness the world indulges in. Yikes!
They're also human, in addition to being christian, and its reality, so im sure they figure, "why hide it?", i guess until we see the episode we don't really know whats going on, maybe they arent even there-rather they have creative control or not, theres still people higher up then them that im sure said for the ratings, put it in. Personally i dont partake in any of that-but, its personal choice
First of all,MaryMary are executive producers of the show,and they said this in a lot of interviews,that if they weren't, they wouldnt accept WeTV's offer.
Secondly,i think this being on the show is gonna cause BIG CONTROVERSIES because their pole dancing exercise,which was verry decent and more of a work-out still caused big waves!!! They will gain a lot of RATINGS and also LOOSE a lot of loyal followers.
I also feel that we will be in FOR SOME BIG SURPRISES THIS SEASON. But Even TINA and ERICA once in an interview said they STRIP and experiment a lot for their men but that should be BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.Not on Camera

Well I'll certainly continue to support them. Pole dancing for exercise, or entertaining their HUSBANDS in the bedroom will NOT keep me from buying their music, I can say that i've never seen the show before, so, i guess im kinda out the loop (not fully seeing the whole picture)-but, bottom line is people gone always have something to say in regards to how a christian lives their lives, and if you do anything that shows a sign of, "oh, they are NOT a christian" then they are ready to kick u to the curb-loving u today, and can't stand u by the end of THAT same day-I'm not saying I approve, but, they did sign up for a reality show that is suppose to showcase THEIR LIVES-follow them around and so forth, if people don't like it, don't tune in-its natural, as a christian, my sisters partake in all of that, i don't but, im not condeming them for THEIR choices-Some people can be so hypocritical-I know chrisitan means Christ like but, it doesnt mean we're perfect

not cool, ESPECIALLY there having that at your house you cant even simply say it happened but we have to watch it, and so it COULD be a teachable lesson if it was just alluded to because its OBVIOUS that's where GOO is right now. and you do have family who are NOT on your level spiritually but to view it is to give them impression that you are condoning it
if you DONT agree shut it down, there are other ways to speak about the truth i wouldnt even not deal with it because it does happen and you guys can be an EXAMPLE.

I think that this is more about controlling the images you put out in the media when God gives you a platform. You have a responsiblity to use it wisely and it is not wisdom to show certain things. There is nothing edifying or God-honoring about male strippers. One of those men pulled his pants down so low it looked like he was going to expose his you know what. That's just not cute or funny. Even if Goo Goo is ghetto Erica and Tina don't have to put that out there like that. But they are doing it for ratings I think.
U know im just looking at the gospel bloggers on twitter like 1800gospel and ichoosegospel and nobody is down with this and also a lot of people are getting really pissed off.They gotta control what they put out there.This may jeopardize their career if their not careful,the stripper scene.VERY BAD!!

I agree with Chante- & Goo Goo is a grown woman, and im sure she makes her own decisions, most women who have bachelorette parties, they can be a surprise & so can the stripper-so i dont know if thats what happened here but, i certainly made it clear in getting married-that i was STRICTLY against it, and to NOT provide it, and if my girls wanted that, then they were more than welcomed to go after my bridal shower to some strip joint, and it looks as though they are at some studio audtioning strippers to decide who they wanted to choose for the actual party-but, u can see they got up and walked away because things got completely out of hand-who are the two women in the shot because it isn't erica or tina? and its GOO GOO"S special day, not there's so if that is what she decided she wanted, mind completely made up, thats on her-ive gone to bridal showers, and left before the stripper showed up
but we are talking about a CHRISTIAN platform, if ERICA and tina didnt talk about JESUS then you can say GOO can DO what she wants BUT she is repping GOD, you can't go DRAGGING HIS name in it like thats okay with GOD because it is not. mme,i agree witch yah! I hope when the season airs, we see MaryMary confronting Justin about his behavior because its UN-acceptable for a stylists boyfriend to reach out to an artist manager and the stylist is not even the Artist themselves. SHAME!!!
Now about those strippers,they honestly decided to include that for the ratings,well,we will see.
But TINA was right for not allowing that party in her backyard!!!
I have been fed up with these two...sorry!! There are definitely lines that should not be crossed when we profess Christianity. As Christians, we should not entertain such worldly things, let alone blast it on tv for the world to see (as if it is ok). This is why we have to watch the company we keep as Christians, because if not, we will become tempted to act like the world. And the whole reality tv thing is surely risky, because people will begin to do anything for ratings. We have to be more tied to God and His Word or else worldly temptations will continue to overshadow everything.

here we go again with Mary Mary .they are trying to be transparent and seems like its getting worse. I'd like to know when they are going to tone it down and its time for them to tone down especially those outfits they wear and the hip hop music and dance they perform on stage. some of what they do is secular and has sexual overtones however they try to portray themselves as righteous. when they can be secular as some of thepeople they perform for. They are two very gifted and talented women and the change has to start with them before they can expect others to change lets pray for that family now that they have aplatform. as for the Bridal Shower I would have had a Woman belly dancer. I bely dance for fitness and fun and I've invited my "sisterfriends to join me......K
@ Chelsea...you're "spot on!" Enough of the poor examples of these gospo-celebs promoting sin. It's indoctrination---hide the impressionable! I say pray for the persecuted Christian, instead, who's in jail b/c that repped for Christ!!
We as Christian have to lead by example. And because we are in this flesh we fall short. But when you are in the spot light like Mary Mary you have to be very aware of your actions. Like Tina said she didn't want her kids to see naked men and neither do we that watch the show. Remember we are in this world but not of this world. I still love Mary Mary.....

i love TINA CAMPBELL. She is very genuine and has a strong personality.I feel that with time,their fans will gravitate more towards TINA than ERICA when they get to know who she really is coz those who know her say she is very sweet
