Gospel Artist Deitrick Haddon takes on Jay-Z & Kanye West with Remixed Versions of ‘Mercy’ & ‘No Church in the Wild’

Our friend at 1800Gospel.com posted videos of gospel artist Deitrick Haddon, who recently announced his split from wife Damita Haddon, rapping over Kanye West and Jay-Z beats for recent releases, “Mercy” and “No Church in the Wild.”
Looks like D-Haddy has switched up the lyrics and offered his own faith-based spin on the popular mainstream rap songs.
Recently, on Twitter, the recording artist explained his logic for doing something he knows will be viewed as controversial among many traditional Christians that will immediately decry indulgence in what is classified as "worldly" or "secular" music.
"There are a few songs i really like & enjoy listening to because of the melody or beat. However the lyrics do nothing to build my spirit!!" wrote Haddon. "So..on the Re-versed mixed tape..I take some of those songs & replace their lyrics with those that will encourage & uplift someone."
Listen below and see what you think.

PLUS, Deitrick Haddon takes on Usher's "Climax" Remix

although I am in my 30's, I was born and raised traditionally Baptist, so this sort of music was a turn off for me. now that I have a personal relationship with God, I have become open-minded to different ways to reach the world, regarding Christ! I love his music...maybe these words will replace the original ones, in the minds of some of the young fans who may be exposed "D-Haddy" AND the hip-hop artists!
And so it starts i personally think he needs to make things right with Damita
@ WOW: How do you know Damita wants him back? And what if he doesn't want her back. They've been divorced for a while and I'm sure they've both moved on with their lives the best way they can.
@TS, what does having a personal relationship with Christ have to do with being open-minded??? What does light have to do with dark, and we know all know what Kanye and Jay-Z are about, so how can Deitrick even make excuses for mess like this. With the way he's been acting lately, can't say I'm surprised that he and Damita broke up, she probably didn't want any part of this mess! I've heard that he even made a remix of Usher's "Climax" song, so I guess you gonna explain how that is edifying the saints, right?? SMH!!
I've been a huge fan and supporter od Deutrick since 1995! and I have to be honest.... Deitrick's version of "Mercy" is WHACK in my opinion....sorry but you're not a rapper....it sounds forced.... BUT "Church in the Wild" is sooooo TIGHT....love that one! .....and I'm a bit confused about how some of the words fit in "climax".... the part that says "...we're going nowhere fast....etc...." Usher's version is talking about the end of a realtionship.....not sure if I'm understanding the "gospel" version???....hmmm not sure about that one......but I'll bump that "church in the wild" though...lol
so what are you trynna say now Detrick? we should go listening to secular songs in order to remix them to gospel? i mean if God wanted you to write a song, doesn't he have all the beats and words enough to inspire you? is God so incapable he needs you fixing your so called gospel words into satanic beats? don't decieve yourself Detrick, just like some one said, darkness and light have nothing in common, you can not drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too, you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons (1 Corth. 10:21). you know how many lives you are destroying by the this very act? Jesus said things that cause people to sin are bound to happen, but woe to that person through whom the come. it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck, than for him to cause one of this little ones to sin. So watch yourselves... (Matt. 17 1:3). Detrick with a big name comes big responsibilities, you really really need to go back to the Bible. And you recent engagement wow! Life is too short Detrick, if you are busy enjoying secular (junk) like you said, how you intend to bear good fruits in your music? I am praying for you.
