WATCH: Creflo Dollar Responds to Shooting Death of Church Member; Calls Him ‘Faithful, Loving, Kind’

By EEW Magazine News Editors

The mood was somber at World Changers Church International in ATL Wednesday night as Pastor Creflo Dollar addressed the horrifying and heart-breaking tragedy that took place just that morning. 39-year-old Greg McDowell, whom Dollar called “faithful, loving, kind,” was shot to death inside the chapel.

“He was shot several times and fell dead as he was leading corporate prayer,” said Dollar in his remarks before a packed audience in the main sanctuary. The shooter, 51-year-old Floyd Palmer has since been arrested and charged.

Dollar called yesterday “one of the most interesting days that I’ve ever experienced in my life.” He continued, “It was a time of shock, a time of sadness, a time of sorrow.”

During his morning briefing, the mega pastor received word that shots had been fired in the chapel, and “One of our very faithful, loving, kind, servant volunteers and our vision keeper [had been killed].”

Dollar referred to the deceased husband and father as a “gentleman” that served the ministers every Wednesday and Friday, and was well known throughout the congregation.

 Watch Dollar’s full statement below.

The perpetrator of the crime, Palmer has a history of violence and mental instability. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, he pleaded guilty to shooting a man a decade ago in Baltimore and was committed to a mental health facility there.

In 2004 he pleaded guilty to assault charges and was deemed “not criminally responsible” and was committed, according to Maryland court records.
