Bishop T.D. Jakes is highly quotable. There’s no question about that. His wisdom draws thousands to his conferences, books, and even social networking sites. Aside from his “52 Days of Pecking Orders” designed to help guide women to their breakthrough, Jakes releases random quotes on Facebook & Twitter. Today, he said something every empowered Christian woman should read.
I believe one of the chief things women struggle with is self-esteem, or a sense of true worth and value. Often, it is the underestimation of our amazingness that causes us to settle in relationships, careers, or even lower our expectations for ourselves.
Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt, but thank God it doesn't quite fit anymore.
But here is the profound quote from Bishop Jakes: “When you don’t know your significance, you will pawn yourself off to anyone or anything, searching for something God has already given you.”
Let those words sink in for a moment and then store them in your mental computer.
Seeing our own significance and embracing our “fearfully and wonderfully made” identity in Christ helps us to avoid accepting just any old thing from life. It also ends our quest for constant validation and outside approval.
And that’s true empowerment.
What do you think of this quote? What quotes, teachers, or resources (aside from the Bible) inspire and empower you to be your best. Please share them with me.

When I saw it this morning, all I could think was, "AMEN!" I know this all too well. God is the only reason my thinking changed. Once I came to understand His overwhelming LOVE for me, I knew it was all I needed. I began to truly realize my self-worth and no longer allowed men (or anyone) else to take that from me. Once I'd fully come into right thinking, I encountered some other inspirational people on twitter: Tony Gaskins, Gentleman Theory, Joyce Meyer.
My daily message to ladies is to know your worth! God made us beautiful masterpieces, and He loves us unconditionally!
I love this quote and this article! Wonderful, wonderful. I am a big fan of Joel Osteen, Beth Moore, Les Brown and Your Daily Cup by sister Dianan Hobbs whom I have known for a while. God's besssings onyou.
