BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel is going “Hip Hop”… at least for a day. Known for its showcasing of more traditional gospel singers, BET’s longest-running series is departing from its normal fare and welcoming one of Christian rap’s foremost artists, Da T.R.U.T.H.
The celebrated lyricist and EEW Magazine favorite, is set to bring his one-of-a-kind talents to the legendary Bobby Jones stage this Sunday.
Those who tune into Bobby Jones Gospel Oct 14 at 9 AM EST. will get the chance to hear details about Da T.R.U.T.H.’s upcoming sixth studio album, “Love, Hope & War.”
The highly anticipated project is a follow-up to 2011’s “The Whole Truth” that made an impressive #2 debut on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart—a testament to the influence of Christian rap and the strong support of Da T.R.U.T.H.’s ministry.
“Love, Hope & War” is currently slated for a January 29 release on Xist Music, which is home to some of Christian raps most gifted artists like The Ambassador, CEO of Xist, Sean Simmonds, Jahaziel, Yaves and N.F.
As one of the most recognized names in Christian rap, Da’ T.R.U.T.H. has the Christian and mainstream Hip Hop music industry all abuzz about "Love, Hope & War," which is expected to be one of the biggest releases for the upcoming year.
Currently, Da T.R.U.T.H. is using his influence and platform for good as a part of the month-long Christian Rock "Music With a Mission" tour, which aims to give bigger purpose to music by providing a platform for organizations to help give to those less fortunate than themselves.
Clearly, the urban expression of gospel music has caught on across the nation, thanks to the exceptional artistry and ministry of artists like Da’ T.R.U.T.H.
