Pop Singer KERI HILSON on Bishop Jakes: He 'Spoke DIRECTLY to My Situation'

She might sing raunchy lyrics & appear scantly clad in some of her videos, but when pop singer Keri Hilson needs a word from the Lord, she knows where to go—Bishop T.D. Jakes. Recently, she tweeted to her 1.7 million+ followers that Bishop Jakes spoke to her needs.

Home from a red-eye & instead of sleeping/watchin my usual junk, I wanted to hear God's word. TD Jakes spoke directly to my situation. Amen!

Bishop T.D. Jakes pastor of The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas reaches millions worldwide and is well known among Hollywood's finest. Recently, LisaRaye, who is reportedly in a relationship with popular preacher, Noel Jones, told Steve Harvey that Bishop Jakes preached a powerful word to her as well.

"I'm walking a path now that is a path through my journey, my spiritual journey. I'm working on my relationship with God and I needed some answers," she said, discussing a trip she took to a Bishop TD Jakes conference where she felt like he was preaching directly to her. "Bishop TD Jakes, he told me about myself in a good kind of way."

EEW Magazine loves to hear about the word of God challenging and reaching women and men wherever they are. There's transforming power in God's word.

Amen indeed!

I don't know how powerful a word it could have been if it didn't shake her out of sin. Celebrities kills me *Rolls eyes*

@Shae that is really a judgmental thing to say. You don't know what God is doing in her heart.

Those who are well don't need a physician, but those who are sick. This is what the word of God is for! It comes to prick heart and convict of sin. God can use us to reach ANYBODY. So I don't understand why any negativity would be thrown Keri Hilson's way. Just pray for her and all of these people who are trying to find their way just like you and me.

I know my comment might not be popular and some might not agree with me, but I think the GOSPEL should cause some change in us. When rank sinners can hear the word and feel comfortable without feeling any CONVICTION is that really an effective word?

January 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterShae

@Shae we all have free will. When we hear the word of God it is up to us to respond. The word of God is not ineffective just because some people don't follow it to the letter. IF that were the case, then the Bible should be thrown out because we ALL fall and sin, and fail to do what God's word says sometimes. #Peoplecanbesoselfrighteous

I'm praying for the church. This world is dying and they need to hear God's word and we have to be willing to go OUT INTO THE HIGHWAYS and hedges and COMPEL them to come in. That is what Bishop Jakes is doing and I applau him.

I don't agree with the LisaRaye Noel Jones relationship. I think he needs to be HELPING her not trying to WIFE her. These preachers kill me.

We are so quick to rush to judgment about people. We should be happy Keri Hilson is listening to the word. She is influencing millions of girls and if God can get to her, she can be used. Who knows the plans God has for her life?

For Shae:

1 Corinthians 3:6 (Amplified Bible)

I planted, Apollos watered, but God [all the while] was making it grow and [He] gave the increase.

@Treasure You are always on it! Took the scripture right out my mouth!!! Lol...

Who can find fault with anyone raving about being touched by the word of God?

January 13, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

If God spoke to her situation then she would have experienced a life changing event. This artist makes money simulating sex acts on stage for money. She has the power to change millions!

Speak the TRUTH SHAE...:-)
The definition of "BIBLICAL JUDGING" is positioning oneself to put another "soul" either in Heaven or Hell. What Shae is describing is what Paul speaks about in his letters...Calling out "sinful" behaviors because it will not benefit that person and be a "stumbling" block for non-believers. Keri Hilson needs to walk away from the ungodly lifestyle and "surrender to Christ completely"! Believers in the TRUE LIVING GOD should NOT "sugar coat' what she is doing because the Bible says the "wages of sin is DEATH". My hope is to see Ms.Hilson in Heaven one day so I will CONTINUE to speak the GOSPEL TRUTH and support those who are committed to RIGHTEOUSNESS...

Peace & Grace
