CONFIRMED: R.I.P. Zachery Tims, Dead at 42

Zachery Tims reportedly found dead in his NY hotel room

According to Orlando News Station WFTV,  Dr. Zachery Tims, 42-year-old pastor of New Destiny Christian Center in Orlando, Florida, was found dead in his hotel room in New York. The official details posted on WFTV.COM say:

The New York City Police Department confirmed Tims died on Friday, August 12, 2011. Tims' body was found in room number 3711 at the W Hotel in New York's Times Square at approximately 6 p.m. The New York City Police Department reports Tims was found unresponsive on the floor in the room. Emergency responders pronounced him deceased. The New York City Medical Examiners office is awaiting results of an autopsy.

Wow, so sad.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the New Destiny church family, ex-wife Pastor Riva Tims and their 4 children, and the Tims family in this difficult time.

Tims made national headlines in 2009 when he and wife Riva ended their 15-year-marriage in late July, two years after it was discovered that Zachery Tims had an affair with an exotic dancer he met in Paris. Judy Nguyen who met Tims when he visited the men's club in Paris where she worked, said the long-distance affair lasted from August 2006 to October 2007.

Afterward, Tims underwent counseling and returned to ministry after 3 months.

Though the couple split up, the two of them continued operating in ministry separately. Of the public divorce, Riva Tims said in an interview with Inspired Woman Magazine, "The best thing for people to do in situations like that is to never take sides. But rather love both parties equally. I was able to cope through real friends who saw my frailties as well. They were willing to pray and stand with me and cover me."

May God's peace be with the family during this time.

OK... so sad but here goes... In a Times Square Hotel by himself at 42 with a heart attack. Will be interesting what the coroner says. Think about it, he was in NY by himself...in a luxury hotel by himself... dying of a heart attack at 42... Hmmm. Waiting on the autopsy.

Mr. Tims, enjoy your new experience with God and Jesus. Its a time to rejoice and be glad. Death is only bad if you miss God and spend eternity in hell. So if you are with God, then you are fine.

Zachary Tims (In Memorial) No One Is Immune

Once, twice, three times, maybe more, tell me what went wrong?
No one is surprised about athletes but a pastor singing this song?
8,000+ members in sunny Florida, two locations, Zachary Tims,
Cocaine! Dead @ 42 preaching the word exactly how did it end?

August 12, Big Apple, New York City, not answering the door,
For his safety, hotel security broke in, OMG! Dead on the floor,
Bolted from the inside, jewelry, personal belongings, all intact,
No robbery, no assault, no wounds, foul play or deadly attack.

Started his ministry with 4 people & by chance in a hotel room,
What are the odds different hotel same location spells his doom?
Envelop of white powder believed to be narcotics in his pocket,
Well, now it makes sense for privacy he had to dead bolt lock it.

New Destiny Christian Center began in 1966, despite his past,
Attempted murder charges, addiction, prayed it would not last,
Wife Rita left in 2008 as Zachary admitted an, “indiscretion,”
She began Majestic Life Ministries, preaching’s her profession.

They spent time together in Puerto Rico a week before his death,
With their 4-kids, maybe depression digested in one last breath,
Pastor Zachary was a regular on, “Praise The Lord” with TBN,
August 20th he’ll be laid to rest surrounded by family & friends.

Scandals so many scandals ending with death beginning at birth,
No matter race, creed, color, who you know , what you’re worth,
We train and tame wild animals but not the mouth, too many lies,
When the, “Almighty” says it’s time to depart no one can survive.
